CONCEPT STATEMENT:

"What if we reinvent the candlestick?” Puff preserves the original size of the candlestick, but redesign it with the modern interpretation. Keeping the weight and the touch of the actual candle holder, we put two kinds of diffusers and usie a 2200k warm LED to create a dreamy atmosphere. And to bring back the old memories, when you blow to the middle of the light, you can turn off the light just like you blow a candle off! Puff offers a two-stage of brightness and the effect of a lighting candle. Our engineer recorded the process of a lighting candle, and we developed a similar visual impact. We hope it relaxes you when you’re staring at the candle.

The charging cable is suitable for any standard of power supply of 5V1A. The management IC supports speed charging. After 10 minutes of charging, the lamp could run for 8 hours straight.

This pendant light was inspired by ‘the invention that saved a million ships,' elevating the optical lighthouse lens to a celebration of urban industrial style. Tiered concentric rings of glass create a prismatic display of contoured light that brings a fresh look to modern interiors. Hidden within the diecast cap is a custom-designed tunable LED bulb in a unique form factor, flattened so that the artisan glass can be fully appreciated without the visual distraction of a functional bulb. With the app, users have complete control of color temperature and brightness, and the option for automated circadian lighting throughout the day. The light features a patented spool system allowing the cord to be adjusted as desired. Because the system is cut-free, users never have to commit to one length, so if you move to a new home your light moves with you, making it more a more sustainable option.

CONCEPT STATEMENT:

Booi walks the line between fixture and object. Reframing the relationship between interior design and light, Booi come down off the ceiling and joins the space as a decorative object; relaxed, relevant, at ease. The Booi pendant can be hung alone or in groups, or used as an accent light simply resting on a table or the floor.

Booi can be visually linked to round fenders often found on smaller boats; the fixture’s glass eye was inspired by the glass fishing floats once used by fishermen in many parts of the world. Though no longer commonly used, many of the glass balls are still afloat in the world's oceans and have become a popular collectors' item for beachcombers and decorators alike. These nautical design roots are a connection between the rugged maritime landscapes of Bergen, Norway and Seattle, Washington.

Booi’s solid-wood cap is handmade in Seattle, and a white opal glass shade is added to finish the fixture. The wooden cap gives a textured, weathered feel, while the linen-covered cord highlights the maritime connection of rope becoming line.

CONCEPT STATEMENT:

MAJA - A line of folding lamps

The special feature of the MAJA is its ability to fold as a result of combining two types of materials: a soft one (tissue) and a rigid one (medium density fiberboard). The tissue acts as a hinge allowing the lamp to fold.

A folding lamp has three major advantages: --minimising the footprint during warehousing/transportation; --minimising packaging space thereby reducing delivery costs, (as illustrated by the difference between shipping open and folded umbrellas); --final assembly by the end-user places him/her in an active role.

The design line is very versatile: varying the number, size and shape of the rigid pieces yields a variety of product sizes and shapes which, along with variations in textures and colours, adapts MAJA to diverse ambience requirements.

The folding nature of these lamps defines their beauty, the beauty that objects radiate when their form is dictated by their function.

PROJECT SPECS:

The product is made up of two materials: medium-density-fiberboard (MDF) and tissue. Besides the electrical parts, no screws or metals are used.

It is sold folded and disassembled in a 9.1” x 9.4” x 2” recycled-cardboard box, with assembly instructions. Assembly is simple and intuitive.

The assembled product dimensions are 9”-ø x 9.8”-height and weighs 600 grams (excluding box).

The picture shows lamps with several paints and finishes: black lacquered, white semi-gloss, yellow semi-gloss.

CONCEPT STATEMENT:

Iron lamp is a local reinterpretation of a classic street lamp imported and massively sold in Tunisia.

The aim is to manufacture a monolithic lamp through the assembly of parts of the same material, involving both manual and industrial work.

The idea is to ennoble the perforated steel sheet: a material infinitely recyclable, precise and translucent but banalized in Tunisia.

The light is diffused through several layers of the perforated sheet, providing maximum visual comfort.

From this design, I developed a whole collection by playing with scale, colors and the dissociation of basic shapes. It included a table lamp, a pendant lamp and candleholders.

PROJECT SPECS:

Iron lamp is composed of two overlapping parts :

- The lower part (H: 114cm, L: 30 cm) is composed of five pieces forming a parallelepiped closed from above acting as a support for the electric socket.

- The upper part (D: 60cm; H: 32cm) is composed of eight pieces forming a geometrical half cylinder.

All is finished in white epoxy. White electric cable with foot switch, equipped with a 14W E27 2700K bulb.
