In 2013 L A M P chose 3 architectural designers to participate in the first annual design installation exhibition and creative challenge that was held at the Woodward's Atrium in Vancouver, BC.
The designers each received a thematic word and were offered lighting options to create their installations. The words were: Arc, Line and Part. They had three months to conceptualize their designs.

L A M P 2013 - Designers
Bryn Davidson, B.Eng. M.Arch. LEED-AP is co-owner of Lanefab Design/Build - a local firm crafting custom homes and laneway houses (in Vancouver, and beyond). Bryn is a LEED accredited residential designer with degrees in Architecture and Mechanical Engineering and a goal to create projects that go beyond 'net-zero' to be 'net-positive'. In 2010 Lanefab completed Vancouver's first laneway house. Today, the firm's 4th solar-powered lane house - built with prefab components - is under construction.
Simon Montgomery, M.Arch, obtained his masters of architecture from UBC and works as a designer at Evoke International Design. A strong interest around ideas of materials, craft and scale guide much of his work. Simon lives in Vancouver with his wife, daughter and black lab, Lola.
Oliver Neumann, Professor UBC, Architekt, & Cristian Schmitt, M.ASA, Oliver Neumann is an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of British Columbia. He is also an Associate Chair of Wood Building Design and Construction at the UBC Faculty of Forestry and an associate faculty member of the UBC Pulp and Paper Centre. His research focuses on the role of digital technology in the design and building process and in broader speculations of material culture. His building research and teaching projects explore contemporary fabrication technologies, mass-customization processes, and their implications for ecological design concepts, design methodology, and construction.
L A M P 2013 'Side Project'
In addition to the 3 major installations, L A M P invited the above 8 local artists to participate in a sculptural subset called 'Side Project'. Each artist altered a ‘Tress’ light shell by Foscarini. The finished works featured below were all auctioned off at the event which drew in a crowd of over 250 artists, architects, product designers, students and local business entrepreneurs as well as being open to the public for the week following.
